Community Outreach

Blessed Food Pantry & community outreach

Congregational UCC of Farmingville has a long tradition of serving its neighbors in need. During the 1970s-1980s, the church ran a thrift shop. Since then, it has donated to numerous local charities, including Long Island Cares, Island Harvest, Mission Lighthouse, Mercy Center, Branches LI, and veterans’ groups. The church has also sponsored families in need for the holidays–providing gifts and foods on family wish lists. Congregational UCC of Farmingville has consistently contributed to United Church of Christ’s five missions, earning it the status as a “5 for 5” Church the past fifteen plus years. It also fundraises to help people affected by natural disasters here and abroad.

In November of 2021, the church began its “Change for Changes” community outreach ministry, which has grown to include regular outreach events and an established food pantry.  Blessed Food Pantry of Congregational UCC of Farmingville is a Long Island Cares Member Agency Food Pantry.
